The Bridge Centre Corridors

The corridors of The Bridge Centre, a SEMH unit within a primary school, were transformed by bright, bold full-wall murals that brought colour and life to the space. We incorporated recognisable local landmarks alongside beautiful wildlife to spark and sustain the children’s imaginations. The newly painted corridors gave the unit a distinct identity and became a much-talked-about statement piece within the school.

The work also had the unexpected but welcome effect of shifting the children’s attitudes toward school, as they realised the environment had been created specifically for them. Ricky even had extra days added on to develop additional design features, because the children kept coming back with fresh ideas. The school’s clear commitment to being child-led really shone through, and one day after a visit to a farm Ricky happily added a horse and a pony when the children proved so enamoured with them.
